What is DIY???
Do it yourself, often referred to by the acronym DIY, is a term used by various communities that focus on people creating or repairing things for themselves without the aid of paid professionals. DIY subculture critiques modern consumer culture, which emphasizes that the solution to our needs is to purchase things, and instead empowers people to take technologies into their own hands to solve needs.
DIY Day Workshop Schedule
9:30-9:50am Radical Juice Making
(Market Fresh Flavors)
10-10:20am Guerrilla Gardening: Seedball making
(SD Food Not Lawns)
10:30-10:50am Incense Making
(Yo’Lite Co.)
11-11:20am Make your own Healthy Home Cleaning Products
(Gathering Grounds)
11:30-11:50am Intro to Bike Repair
(Bikes del Pueblo)
12-12:20pm Knotty Knitting
(Knitters Anonymous)
Come for a workshop and also enjoy breakfast or lunch at one of our scrumptious hot food vendors, get a hot or iced cup-o-joe at the Casa Café, and of course, get your produce from one of our local produce vendors.
We’ll see you there!
The City Heights Farmers’ Market is open from 9am-1pm every Saturday and is located at the corner of Wightman and Fairmont, across from the City Heights Library.
