Zionist Freedom Alliance- historical facts are only an illusion.

by MC
In recent years I have grown accustomed to Zionists reinventing themselves. Every couple of months a new Zionist sect tries to make the past disappear, re-brand Zionism, and accuse every one of….you guessed it, being anti-Semitic.

I stumbled upon this “new and improved” Zionism while walking on the UC campus. The new group, “Zionist Freedom Alliance” claims that its establishment is due to “the apologetic and ineffective nature of many pro-Israel student groups”, which I guess in translation to human language means showing any remorse or guilt for the brutal occupation of Palestinians for more than fifty years.

I have to admit that looking at the t-shirts, posters, and slogan made me feel like walking into a scene of “1984”. The past is what ZFA said it should be.

The ideology of this new sect is inspired by Zaav Zabotinski who they describe as being “very sensitive to his people”. That’s depends on how does one defines “his” and “people”. Here are some interesting quotes made by Zabotinski in regard to Palestinians

"We Jews have nothing in common with what is called the 'Orient,' thank God. To the extent that our uneducated masses have ancient spiritual traditions and laws that call the Orient, they must be weaned away from them, and this is in fact what we are doing in every decent school, what life itself is doing with great success. We are going in Palestine, first for our national convenience, [second] to sweep out thoroughly all traces of the 'Oriental soul.' As for the [Palestinians] Arabs in Palestine, what they do is their business; but if we can do them a favor, it is to help them liberate themselves from the Orient.'"
"We Jews, thank God, have nothing to do with the East. . . . The Islamic soul must be broomed out of Eretz-Yisrael. . . . [Muslims are] yelling rabble dressed up in gaudy, savage rags."

Zabotinski admired Fascist movements in Europe and in particular Mussolini. At one point he even took a picture of himself (the picture above) dressed in Fascist uniforms. In 1931 Zabotinski established a terrorist organization called the Irgun, who later split into the Lehi and Etzel. The Irgun and the Lehi adopted an ideology of targeting not only British soldiers who were occupying Palestine at the time but also civilians as well (more on that later).

In the poster above the word Palestinian is never used, since if Palestinians represent a nation, in what way would it be justified to kick them of their land?
http://www.palestineremembered.com/Acre/Palestine-Remembered/Story413.html

So Palestinians are not a nation unlike Jews who are a nation by their religion and oppression? So a Jewish person from Israel is related to a Jewish person from America because their tradition uses the same language? In the same way a Muslim in Pakistan is of the same nation of a Muslim in China, and Women compose a nation for being oppressed.

Also the poster never explains who the “Arabs” were who attacked the Jewish settlement.
The lynch-mob mentality of “our women were violated so lets go and kill some Arabs” goes unquestioned. The fact that three Zionist fighters took it upon themselves to throw a grenade at a bus full of civilians is taken for granted- after all, Arabs are all the same and collective punishment is the only thing that they can comprehend. But if throwing bombs into busses is a legitimate respond when a “nation” fights to defend its people, why all the criticism of Hamas targeting civilians busses in Israeli cities?

Before dying Shlom apparently said that “it is good to die for our country”, which is not very surprising for someone who belongs to an organization that was inspired by Fascist movements in Europe. Another sentence “I’m not going to die like the humiliated exile Jew”, shines a light on the attitude of many Zionists towards the “Diasporatic Jew” or the need to create the “New Jew”. The founding fathers of the state of Israel believed that Jews who lived in Europe suffered from “Diaspora mentality”. This is not the place to describe their thinking about Jews from Arab countries.

What this leaflet will not disclose:
The Lehi (and the Irgun) movements, which ZFA draws inspiration from, saw terrorist attacks against civilians (Palestinians) as a legitimate means for the liberation of the “Land of Israel”.
Here are a very small numbers of examples:

July 5, 1938- 3 Arabs were killed by a bomb detonated in a bus in Jerusalem.

July 6 1938 18 Arabs and 5 Jews were killed by two simultaneous bombs in the Arab Melon market in Haifa.

July 6 1938 18 Arabs and 5 Jews were killed by two simultaneous bombs in the Arab Melon market in Haifa.

July 16, 1938 10 Arabs were killed by a bomb at a marketplace in Jerusalem.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Irgun_attacks_during_the_1930s

While the drowning of a boat full of refugees is a crime, why is the planting of bombs in civilians markets, or the throwing of explosives on busses is acceptable? So let me rephrase: is the targeting of civilians justified?
Here is something else that the leaflet will not discuss; in 1940 the Lehi offered the Nazi regime to assist it in its war against the British in return for the establishment of the “Land of Israel”. While Zionists like to accuse anyone who criticizes any aspect of the apartheid government as being Anti-Semitic, they seem to have no problems upholding a group that was willing to fight for the Nazis.

The t-shirt (wear by members of ZFA) carries the picture of Yair Steren, the person who led the split from the Irgun (and tried to align his organization with the Nazis). Steren was murdered by the British authorities and his group kept his legacy alive after his death. No surprise that on April 9 1948 members of the Lehi rounded 100 civilians, half of them women and children from the village of Deir Yassin, and systematically killed them all. Another 25 civilians were paraded through the streets of Jerusalem before being shot on the side of the road.

Then again, does history matter? Can’t history be whitewashed and distorted of any real meaning to serve a Zionist ideology?

Later some representatives of ZFA spoke at Sproul Plaza, note the cultural appropriation in the blue and white kaffiyya. I wonder what would happened if a yamika in the color of the Palestinian flag was to be wear by non Jewish activists.

“we are the real indigenous people of Palestine”

“Zionism is not racism; it’s the ideology of securing our ancient land that belongs to us”

“people who condemn Zionism are Anti-Semite”

1. what I say is true
2. what I say is true because I say so (and because history can be distorted)
3. people who challenge what I say are Anti-Semitic.
