PROP 8 AND THE STRUGGLE FOR EQUALITY
The passing of Proposition 8 in California, banning same-sex marriages, has been met with a large and often militant response on the part of LGBT people and supporters. Five million people, nearly half of California's voters, said NO to Prop. 8, in the face of a bigoted and well-funded campaign. This signifies a tremendous shift in the population in support of full marriage rights for LGBT people.
What can turn the tide now is the intervention of the people. Join us to discuss how we can win this stuggle and full equality of basic democratic rights for LGBT people and others.

There’s a great video I saw on San Francisco IAM on Proposition 8. It shows both sides of the issue and what it means for same sex couples in California. It’s a must see for those concerned about the issue.
