Santa Cruz protest against Prop 8?
What's up with SC, why aren't we protesting Prop 8 like Long Beach, LA, and SF are?! Many arrested in the LBC tonight and my props go out to them. Saturday, Sunday, anyone want to meet?!?!?!

Actually there were only 3 people arrested for starting a riot.

On Saturday, November 8, we will be holding a candlelight vigil at 7:00 at the Town Clock in Santa Cruz to stand together, acknowledge our loss, and comfort one another; at 7:30, Rev. David Grishaw-Jones will lead those who can make the walk up the hill in a candlelight procession to the First Congregational Church of Santa Cruz on High Street.
At 8:00, faith communities around Santa Cruz will come together in an interfaith gathering to recommit ourselves to marriage equality and human rights at the First Congregational Church, 900 High St., Santa Cruz.
We invite the Santa Cruz community to join us in acknowledging the first time that rights have been voted away from a class of people.

bummer to not have seen this post earlier. i have really been looking for santa cruz's response to the outcome of prop 8, and i hadn't seen anything about the clocktower vigil. i hope that if something is planned for the future, that someone will add it to the calendar and advertise more widely. thanks for organizing. sorry to miss out.
I would be interested in organizing some type of march against prop 8, would anyone (preferably someone who's more experienced with organizing demos) be interested in joining me?
Millions of voters went to the polls recently and said YES to fear, YES to separate-but-equal policies, YES to writing bigotry into our state's constitution. The time to stand up and say NO to Proposition 8 is now! Join the Santa Cruz rally that is part of the National Day of Protest against Prop 8. Meet Saturday, November 15th at 10:30am in front of the Santa Cruz County Courthouse. March proud and yell loud and say YES to equality for all.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
