Presidio Trust Public Comment Meeting/Development Proposals

Date:
Thursday, November 13, 2008
Time:
6:30 PM - 10:30 PM
Event Type:
Meeting
Organizer/Author:
Presidio Historical Association
Location Details:
St. Mary's Conference Center, 1111 Gough St @ Geary Blvd (SW corner) in SF. 150 free onsite parking spots. MUNI Geary Blvd bus #38, Van Ness bus #47/#49, Sutter St. #20/#3 stops within 2 blocks. The public is invited to comment on new construction proposals detailed in a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS) -- including a large art museum sponsored by Gap founder Don Fisher, 100-room hotel/restaurant, movie multiplex-- under consideration for the Presidio of San Francisco, a national historical and recreational park (part of GGRNA) at this meeting, held by the Presidio Trust. The Trust, a federal agency which manages the Presidio's real estate, has come under strong criticism for supporting these and other proposed developments on the Presidio's historic Main Post, a designated National Historic Landmark District dating back to 1776. Comments should relate to the DSEIS posted on http://www.presidio.gov // Sign in early to make your comments at this meeting. Help us save the historic Presidio and its natural beauty for future generations.
