Iraq Moratorium: 'Human Billboard' Demonstration

Date:
Friday, October 17, 2008
Time:
4:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Peninsula Peace and Justice Center
Location Details:
Corner of El Camino Real & Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto

Troops Home Now! Part of the Iraq Moratorium campaign, a monthly series of actions demanding an end to the war. On the third Friday of each month, local peace groups are taking the time to show our President, Congress, and candidates that our troops must be brought home, now!

Peninsula Peace and Justice Center will hold a 'Human Billboard' vigil at the busy corner of El Camino Real & Embarcadero Road, holding antiwar signs and banners and encouraging commuters to actively oppose the war. Please join us!

While everyone's attention is taken up with the elections and the economic crisis, it is important to remember that our government is still engaged in an illegal, immoral -- and expensive -- war of aggression. Remind voters and candidates that this country can't move forward until we stop wasting lives and money on empire-building!

For more information on PPJC and this action, call 650-326-8837 or visit www.PeaceandJustice.org. For a list of ongoing local vigils, check out peaceandjustice.org/index.php?topic=Vigils. Sign the Iraq Moratorium pledge and get involved with the campaign at www.iraqmoratorium.com.
