What date are the two shows? Carpool arrangements to Watsonville for those of us up here in Santa Cruz?

Okay, I am all for helping those in need...but I don't see this guy as being "in need". From what I've read this guy's attorney admits he lied and committed the crime. Also, anyone else following the news on this guy???

His first lawyer was an animal right lawyer - who is horrible - and she admits this guy did in fact have multiple IDs with different names. Then he fires her to get a loud mouth attorney with a horrible track record who pisses off juries who also admits this guy has multiple IDs with different names. I mean really, where are you getting your lawyers?

IDK, what's goin on with this kid but its pretty obvious he and his girl are exploiting their cause. I'd like to see some proof he can't afford his legal help. Afterall, if he can't afford an attorney the court is supposed to appoint one for him right??? Why didn't he get a court appointed lawyer? Also, word on the street is the first lawyer - this guy fired - was doing the case pro bono meaning FREE. Why do they need out money and how much of it from these concerts is going toward this exploiting "college student"????

Where did you hear that about his attorneys? All I can find in the Mercury news article is that he has an attorney Doug Fox.

as someone who knows nate, i know that he is neither wealthy nor exploitative of peoples "causes." i find it very interesting that you, who do not know him and obviously have no connection to this case, are so quick to make sweeping generalizations and assumptions about him and his lawyers. i suggest you keep your comments to yourself and realize that nate it a real person with friends and family that needs help. in case you did not notice, his legal fees are close to $20,000. anyone who has ever been caught up in the criminal justice system knows that it looooves fees and fines! so please save your whining for elsewhere and let us try and save our friend from being sentenced to prison.

Hi Ber, the first articles indicated his lawyer was Christine Garcia, IIRC, from San Francisco. Their office was pretty open that they would be pro bono for this kid. However, for some reason, he fired the free lawyer from the Big City and now has this loud mouth, Doug Fox. Simple internet searches of this guy Fox and talking with people who've used his services reveal his track record. Fox is typically a DUI lawyer handling simple misdemeanors. This must feel like his "Big Break". I'm feeling like someone is trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

In fact, he's only had one court appearance right?

Should read, Nate's only had one real court appearance right. From what I gather, he's had his arraignment - which is no more than a five minute deal and with his first lawyer - and now most recently his preliminary hearing with the new lawyer.

This is great that people are putting these events together to help someone in need (i.e. Nathan). Although I won't be able to make it, you have my full support.

Peace, love and granola,
