Having recently stepped down as President of Botswana, His Excellency Festus Mogae will discuss his nation’s notable democratic, economic, and social accomplishments. President Mogae has been praised for his fiscal discipline, prudent management style, and leadership in combating the country’s high rates of HIV/ AIDS. During his ten years of leadership, Botswana has had the fastest growth in per capita income in the world, while also being considered by the US Department of State as a model for stability in Africa.
