Peace and Dignity Journeys MOVIE NIGHT FUNDRAISER!

A fundraiser for the Peace and Dignity Journeys will take place on Friday September 19 || 7-9pm at Chicana Perk. Two videos from the Northern route filmed by runners from San Diego will be shown, giving the indigenous perspective on the sacred journey and describing the struggles and triumphs of indigenous communities, in their own words. PLUS: Slideshow and stories from the Southern route. Come out to support our compañeros from San Diego who are core runners: Abel, Arturo, Gaby, Oscar and Ymoat.

Peace and Dignity Journeys is a spiritual journey held every four years to unite indigenous peoples and strengthen indigenous culture. Runners start in Tierra del Fuego and Alaska, proceed through hundreds of indigenous communities, and meet at the Panama Canal. This year's journey is dedicated to Sacred Sites, hundreds of which are being threatened with development or resource exploitation.

Monetary Donations to help the runners with food and transportation expenses on the journey will be collected.
