Watsonville's first pride is this weekend, but it's an event decades in the making. Maria and Olga talk about the road to Pride and the road beyond, saying that putting on a Pride march is a strategy rather than a goal. We talked about the tacit 'don't ask don't tell' policy of organizing in our movements for social justice, where GLBT issues are put last, gender struggles are dismissed, and issues of race are put aside as distractions.
