Deepa Kumar is an assistant professor of media studies at Rutgers University. Deepa Kumar teaches and writes about the limitations of the corporate media systems and the ways in which dissenting voices are marginalized from the public sphere. Her areas of research includes media, war, imperialism, globalization, class, gender, Islam, the Middle East and U.S. foreign policy, on which she has published several scholarly articles.
