Again, we say to the U.S. Navy all of Hunters Point Naval Shipyard must be cleaned up.
Again, we say to the U.S. Navy all of Hunters Point Naval Shipyard must be abated to Residential Standards. Right now the U.S. Navy is thinking of capping Parcel B - that has radiological elements but also a large area contaminated with Mercury. And at the other end an area that has active Methane Gas. The U.S. Navy polluted the area and is responsible to clean it up to Residential Standards. No Mickey Mousing with the land - and no bluffing the people. In prior years the U.S. Government has spoken with a fork tongue - and today continues through the corrupt politicians - and one that comes to mind Senator Diane Feinstein.
The Hunters Point Naval Shipyard is very polluted.
It is the home of the Nation Radiological Defense Laboratory (NRDL). It is also the site that tested Depleted Uranium and many think nothing of it.
All over the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard - huge animals were radiated and buried. We have people in the community - that worked on the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard and can tell you about the radiated animals and where they were buried.
All over the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard - the worst type of pollutants were buried. That is why the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard is called a Superfund Site. It is one of the ten worst sites in the Nation.
Once, on the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard there were two hills and these hills were destroyed and the contents - spread over the wet-lands as fill-in. Today, the U.S. Navy is speaking in terms of this Serpentine Rock that when crushed is Asbestos, laden with other heavy metals - as affecting the total clean-up.
That is not the community's concern.
If, the U.S. Navy polluted the area - it must clean up the area to Residential Standards. Proposition P mandated that the U.S. Navy clean up the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard to Residential Standards. Eighty seven percent of San Franciscans voted for Proposition P - and this mandate - must be adhered to.
So, when the U.S Navy tongue in cheek speaks about cleaning Parcel B - and says in a cock-eyed manner that it will abide by the standards laid down by the City and County of San Francisco - the U.S. Navy better do better - clean up the entire Shipyard to Residential Standards.
The City and County of San Francisco also abides by the Precautionary Principle. Well, it is time the U.S. Navy study this principle and more abide by it.
Some of the most horrendous radiological experiments took place at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard. An atomic bomb was assembled and the bomb dropped on Japan. Millions were killed and thousands suffer to this day.
At the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard other atrocities were committed - spelling it out in detail - would bring shame on many - the many, they know who they are - should be ashamed of their actions.
Many Blacks with intent were put in harms way.
The Blacks that take money to sell out their community - are not full cognizant of this fact. But, those that had grandfathers and grandmothers with links to the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard will agree with me.
Men worked blasting the ships that took part in the Bikini Atoll - Atomic experiments. The ships were towed to Hunters Point Naval Shipyard. The Black workers - blasted the hulls of the ships with sand - exposed themselves to the atomic material and brought the toxic stuff at home.
The women hand washed the clothes and put them out to dry. Washed the clothes with other clothes and adversely impacted the whole family.
Others brought home Asbestos particles - and exposed their wives and children and other members of the family. No one told the workers mostly Black but there were Latino and others - all put in harms way.
We know what took place and we have some photographs to show the public at large.
Looking at these photographs give you some idea. We are not bluffing - so when Diane Feinstein wants the land capped to build over 2500 homes on Parcel B - and thinks capping the land is good she is wrong. The people will fight her - and her cronies - and rightly so.
Parcel B is about 56 acres - very polluted - with a large area that has Methane Gas and another area that is polluted with Mercury. The U.S. Navy is changing its song - and every time it changes its song - it wants the community to dance to the different tunes.
We want the entire Hunters Point Naval Shipyard cleaned to Residential Standards.
We do not care what Congressperson Nancy Pelosi says or Senator Diane Feinstein.
Or for that matter the sell out Black - Supervisor Sophie Maxwell.
Or the other sell outs - that I have mentioned before - but suffice to say - they are a disgrace to the human race.
