"The Left Out Party" HRC Gala Dinner Boycot for Transgender rights
Date Saturday July 26
Time 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Location Details
Outside the Westin St. Francis hotel in Union Square, San Francisco
Event Type Party/Street Party
Organizer/Author
What is the problem?
There are no federal laws that protect Transgender employment rights.

Whats wrong with the Human Rights Campaign?
They endorsed a non-inclusive Employment Gender Discrimmination Act which completely left out transgender people.

What can we do?
We must hold HRC accountable for ignoring the human rights of transgender people, and push for an inclusive version of the ENDA for 2009

On Saturday, July 26th, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is hosting its annual San Francisco gala dinner and fund raiser at the Westin St. Francis hotel. They’ll raise money, cheer and applaud their apparent successes in Washington DC, announce a sudden, renewed interest in marriage, and claim that they are advancing the nation’s LGBT agenda.

But we in San Francisco’s LGBT community are preparing our OWN July 26th party in the streets, outside of the Westin St. Francis. We also encourage others in the LGBT community and our allies to boycott HRC’s gala event, due to HRC’s ongoing refusal to advocate for federal legislation that protects all Americans from discrimination based on gender identity and expression.

Join SF Pride at Work for a fun, inclusive, alternative party outside of the Westin St Francis, with signs, entertainment, stickers, and our own awards and accolades. Ours will be a space where EVERYONE is welcome. The Left Out Party starts outside at 5PM!

We need your help! Please sign the petition, and tell your friends to join you in showing support for true inclusion in our community.

-Go to http://www.leftinsf.com to sign the petition. Email sfprideatwork [at] gmail.com to confirm our next meeting!

Trans-exclusion is just the tip of the HRC iceberg of terror. They have, and continue to fight only for the "rights" of well connected, (mostly white) upper-middle class gays and lesbians. Their annual "buyers guide" celebrates every evil global-national exploiter imaginable and almost everything they sell is made in sweatshops. What about the "human rights" of those folks? There cannot be a "better, more inclusive HRC", there can only be the end to the HRC. As Sylvia Rivera said "One of our main goals now is to destroy the Human Rights Campaign, because I’m tired of sitting on the back of the bumper. It’s not even the back of the bus anymore — it’s the back of the bumper. The bitch on wheels is back."
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
