Minutemen invited to march in Fourth of July parade

by Frank Talk
Fremont's Fourth of July Organizing Committee invites Golden Gate Minutemen to lead city' Fourth of July march.
It was reported today that Fremont's Fourth of July Parade Organizing Committee invited Golden Gate Minutemen to lead the city's Fourth of July parade. The Argus reports that "Not only can the Golden Gate Minutemen march, but they have been asked to walk with three giant red, white and blue star-shaped balloons." When asked about the participation of the Golden Gate Minutemen in the parade, Chairwoman Patty Hitchcock, says "I think that would be a really good way to (mend fences)." The Minutemen, she added, would be invited to future Fremont Independence Day parades as well.

Xenophobic white supremacists (of any color) must be confronted. Any Fremont antiracists around? Human rights activists? Anyone?

There's no indication that the Minutemen accepted the invite. They said they wanted a lawsuit. Will anyone even be there, and if the Minutemen aren't there what do we protest?

Its interesting that right wingers come to Indybay to promote their misguided and reactionary views. More then that, its hilarious that they scream “free speech” or “democracy” when their comments get deleted, as if they do not support racist’s ideologies that run contrary to what this site stands for, or that they pretend to be the victims as if their voice is not already heard through thousands of outlets of the corporate media.

I know one thing; I do not go to places where I’m not welcome in.
