Consent & Sexual/Intimate Violence: Understanding the Complexity of Consent, Embracing Accountability, and Building Stronger Radical Communities
Date: Wednesday July 2nd.
Time: 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Location: Zami! Co-op (in the library)
Description: This workshop will be focused on: What is consent? Why is consent important? How does consent contribute to safer spaces and building stronger radical communities? What is the link between consent and social justice oriented movements? Together we will build a community definition of consent and discuss questions specific to radical communities striving for stronger, safer, and consensual spaces.
Requirements: Please try to be on time.

*Recommended reading of the book (or parts of) "Transforming a Rape Culture" by Emilie Buchwald
*Recommended $5 purchase of 'zines relevant to Sexual Violence & abuse which will be available at all workshops
*Please note that we are not experts on these subjects, only folks in this community who have done some deep thinking about these issues who are committed to bringing dialogue about this important subject into our communities
*These workshops may be triggering for anyone who has experienced abuse or sexual assault, as we will be discussing these subjects in-depth
*Please try to be on time, considering the subject matter we feel it is important in building a comfortable environment
