Tuesday, June 17
8 AM
Jason Scott, from Fresno County Chapter Leader, Marriage Equality USA, writes: We are planning to join together at the Fresno County Clerk’s office on June 17th at 8AM to request marriage licenses for same sex couples. If you are interested we would love to have you join us. If you aren't ready to make the leap or just want to support those who are, please come out and join us! Please understand that this date may change depending on the courts. If you plan to attend, please email or call me so I can contact you with up to date information.

If you know of any businesses who would like to support us with items/donations or any gay-friendly clergy members who may be willing to perform ceremonies, also, please contact me. This will be a historic moment in the marriage movement and we want you to be a part of it!

fuck starbucks! being queer is not about shopping and consumerism!!!
by come on, grow up
There are some many reasons, for example........

Grand Rapids firing comes in the midst of Unfair Labor Practice charges being investigated by the NLRB against Starbucks.

Grand Rapids, MI (06/06/2008)- Starbucks terminated a barista active in the IWW Starbucks Workers Union today as part of its ongoing effort to combat a growing movement of employees pushing for a living wage and secure work hours. The barista, Cole Dorsey, was fired after two years of service while he was coordinating a union recruitment drive at Starbucks stores in Grand Rapids. Starbucks' pretext for the illegal anti-union firing was that Dorsey was guilty of some months-old attendance infractions.

The fact remains that Starbucks marched (for the first time) as a contingent in Fresno's Pride Parade. Many Starbucks employees are also members of the queer community. As much as some people may not care for Starbucks, I applaud their willingness to buck the (very) conservative attitudes in Fresno and the Valley.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
