I’m in Los Angeles this weekend for BookExpo America, the annual publishing industry’s three-day gathering that’s being held this year at the LA Convention Center. More than 30,000 people representing 80 countries are expected to attend, including publishers, authors and panelists. Among the groups here is the American Booksellers Association, or ABA, the national trade association for independent booksellers. They have just launched a new initiative called “Indiebound.” Joining me here in LA to talk about it Lawrence Russell, the former president of the ABA.
