StopHerth is a tenants' rights advocacy group for the Castro neighborhood. For too long have Castro residents stood by as our neighborhood is gentrified by real estate speculation. Our community leaders have long cried out against the "de-gaying" of the Castro, but have done little to stop the gentrification.

Chis is a disabled tenant who is living in on of the properties owned by the owner of Herth Real Estate, Larry Stebbins. Even though Stebbins already controls a trust that owns tens of millions of dollars of property across the City, he is trying to force out Chris from his home and replace him with a commercial tenant. Read more of Chris' story at

We have already held three very successful protests against Herth and Chris was able to get an article written about his plight in the Bay Area Reporter. However, Stebbins still continues to put greed above the community. Come out and protest with us against Stebbins and other landlords who put greed before the community!!
