As we work for a fair contract for patient care and service workers UC wide, UCSC has decided to attack workers! UCSC has been firing able workers as they approach the end of their probationary period (which marks a point where workers gain the full rights and protectons of their union).
Positions remain unfilled and responsibilities are put on remaining workers, resulting in high stress environments where workers do not report abuses for fear of being fired. Just this ast Monday a dining hall worker had an anxiety attack due to all of this pressure.
