EBBC founded Bike to Work Day in 1994 and it soon spread throughout the Bay Area and California. This year we celebrate our 15th Annual event on May 15, 2008 and it will no doubt will be the biggest and best yet in the East Bay. So, get your chain oiled, brakes adjusted, and be sure to get registered to win a host of cool prizes.
Bike Away from Work Party
Thursday, May 15 5:30-7:30pm at Rudy’s Can't Fail Cafe opposite Emeryville City Hall. Were closing the street! This is our biggest party in May, with New Belgium beer joining the East Bay Express and the Sierra Club Northern Alameda Group to help the East Bay Bicycle Coalition celebrate our grandest day of the year. Raffle prizes, auction itmes, good food and drink and a few pats on the back. BART Director Bob Franklin will present the Bike Commuter of the Year Awards to Tricia Campbell of Antioch and Dave Jones of Alameda.

Energizer Stations
Over 63 East Bay Energizer Stations will be buzzing the morning of Bike to Work Day throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. We've been busy stuffing almost 6000 mussette and tote bags with great swag to hand-out to early-bird bicycle commuters on May 15! To get signed up as a super volunteer for Bike to Work Day, contact Dave Campbell or drop by EBBC's office at Fruitvale Village (BART), 3301 E 12th St, #143.

Chipotle is offering a free burrito, bol, tacos or salad to all bicyclists who bring their musette bag and ride to a Chipotle burrito shop. Chipotle is also stepping up to provide free burrito to all "evening" Energizer Stations in the East Bay.
