by Otis (sf [at] worldcantwait.org)
FIRE JOHN YOO!Roundtable Discussion & Plan of Action Thursday, May 15 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists 1924 Cedar Street (at Bonita Avenue), Berkeley
The National Lawyers Guild has called on the UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) to dismiss professor John Yoo, author of the infamous Department of Justice legal memoranda justifying the United States' use oftorture on various detainees.

"John Yoo's complicity in establishing the policy that led to the tortureof prisoners constitutes a war crime under the US War Crimes Act," said Guild President Marjorie Cohn.

Join The World Can’t Wait - Drive Out the Bush Regime! and a coalition ofconcerned members of Act Against Torture, the American Psychological Association, Code Pink, the National Lawyers Guild, professors, and activists in a forum on how to uproot the US torture system enabled by John Yoo. A good start would be firing, disbarring, and prosecuting this war criminal.

Think carefully about this: Is the appropriate action when you disagree with someone to stiffle their free speech?
Do you really want to fire anyone who thinks differently than the mainstream?
