"The hardest, most painful, best thing you'll ever do."
--October Intensive Participant
Co-led by Sensei Paco Genkoji Lugoviña, founder of the Hudson
River Peacemaker Center - House of One People, in Yonkers, NY
and rev. angel Kyodo williams, Spiritual Director of New Dharma
Community.
We invite you to join us for the most racially diverse Jukai,
Zen lay ordination ceremony, in the U.S. Nine of the eleven
practitioners, who will ordain in the New Dharma and Zen
Peacemaker Order traditions, are people of color.
This milestone gathering marks an important shift
in who's practicing and teaching the dharma today.
Typically sesshin retreats are open to participants only, but
all are invited to witness this historic Jukai Ceremony,
where students will receive precepts, a rakusu and a dharma
name. The Sesshin will take place May 24-31 May 2008
and will close with the Jukai Lay Ordination Ceremony on
31 May 2008 at the Pema Osel Ling Center located in the
Santa Cruz Mountains.
You are welcome to participate for the opening or closing
weekend dates of this retreat as well. But if you can. . .
Please join us for 8 days of deep practice & an evening of sacred ceremony.
