Walk-Out!

On May 1st students at SFSU are walking out against the fee increases and budget cuts that are affecting the whole CSU system (and public higher education as a whole). Join students and working people to celebrate International Worker's Day and show politicians that there are consequences for crippling our education and attacking workers and immigrants rights!

Fee Hikes:

-Fees increase 10% every year.
-2009 fees are scheduled to average $3,048 across the CSU.
-This Fall, fees will be 113% higher than they were in 2002.

Budget Cuts:

-$1billion cut from higher education in 2009, including $312.9 million from CSU
-1/3 of Ethnic Studies classes in the only college of ethnic studies in the US could be lost at SFSU due to teacher lay-offs
-Tens of thousands of students will be denied a college education!

At this point, every CSU campus should be in rebellion. Start building student groups to organize walk-outs and other direct actions on your campus.
Everyone is feeling the effects of these cuts – your actions will be in concert with 1000s of people across the state. Immigrants rights marches are scheduled and the
whole West coast is being shut down by dockworkers protesting the Iraq war.
