The Friendly Fire Collective and M19 Reflection
The Friendly Fire Collective
We want to take this opportunity to introduce you all to a project that we’ve been working on called the Friendly Fire Collective. We won’t take the time to give you too much of an intro to our group as this is done on our website (http://www.friendlyfirecollective.info), which we hope you will take some time to check out. But quickly, we hope to be a production/distribution collective that can get out a variety of different forms of media focusing on political education, analysis, and debate to a wide audience in the hopes of enhancing the potential of sustained social movements.
Part of this project involves producing our own material, which unfortunately we haven’t had too much of a chance to do yet. But what piece that we have worked on is a reflection and analysis of the March 19th actions in San Francisco organized with Direct Action to Stop the War (DASW) and our involvement both with that group and during the day of action. We originally envisioned this to be incorporated within a collection of articles about M19 where our voice would be one of many, but unfortunately several submissions fell through leaving us with the choice to either publish our thoughts independently or not publish them at all. We decided on the former. Our vision of this project was, and still is, to promote discussion within the anti-war movement.
