Assembly member Mullin (San Mateo) has introduced AB 2296 which will be heard THIS TUESDAY. We need people to make quick and polite phone calls asking for a NO vote.
Very quickly, this bill is regarding animal enterprises (which is being defined as including anyone who uses or sells animals) and could prohibit publicizing images of individuals associated with an animal enterprise and could be misconstrued to prohibit lawful boycotts, protest, investigations, etc.
This bill is much more involved, but due to the urgency of needing calls, if you want to know more, please look up the bill:
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov and search 2296 as the bill number.
We need everyone to call their assemblymembers (on the chance that it passes) as well as the committee members below who will be voting on Tuesday.
To find your assemblymember:
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/yourleg.html
And please be polite when calling and ask them to vote NO on AB2296.
