March 27th @ 6pm - Film: Bordertown (2006) w/ J-Lo & Antonio Banderas - J-Lo is a reporter for the Chicago Sentinel who heads to Juarez to investigate a series of mysterious slayings involving young factory women from all over Mexico. This film is inspired by real murders and abductions of the women in Juarez. While it is a mainstream movie, it serves as a good point of departure for dialogue about these occurrences of violence against women, particularly in relation to the border, globalization and economic policies such as NAFTA. 2 hours. Donation: $1.00

Film: Quinceañera (2006)
Magdalena is 14 and anxiously awaiting her 15th birthday where she'll celebrate her quinceañera, but a few things start to unfold that make world crumble. This coming-of-age movie tackles many issues that are whispered about and kept in secret within our families. 1hour 30min. COST: $5.00 (includes admission to the closing reception)
