Details about San Francisco's Median Income and its implemention linked to Proposition F.

by Francisco Da Costa
Proposition F requires that fifty percent of new housing built on Candlestick Point and Hunters Point Shipyard be affordable to San Franciscans at these levels: one sixth of the affordable housing homes at eighty percent of Area Median Income (AMI) or below. One sixth of the affordable housing at sixty percent of AMI or below. One sixth of the affordable housing at thirty percent of AMI or below. Of course the other fifty percent at Market Rate Price.

Proposition F requires that Alice Griffith public housing be rebuilt with at least one-for-one replacement units targeted to the same income levels at the existing residents and must be phased to ensure that all eligible residents have the right to move to new comparable units on the Alice Griffith site without being displaced until the new replacement units are ready for occupancy.

Proposition F provides that preferences for rental or purchase of new affordable housing be given to families of low and moderate income in this priority:

1. Any Alice Griffith residents in good standing.

2. Persons entitled to residential relocation assistance.

3. Individuals paying more than fifty percent of their income for housing or residing in public or
HUD Section 8 housing.

4. San Francisco residents.

5. The general public

Proposition F is perhaps the first Ballot Measure in recent history that will empower all hard working people that want to live in San Francisco and have a say on matters pertaining to Housing and Quality of Life issues.

We must not permit Big Developers and especially Rogue Developers like the Lennar Corporation to come into our community - take over large areas and rip off the community.

San Francisco must not become a City where only millionaires can afford to live - while hard working ordinary people in the Service Industry and other such industries are forced to move out of San Francisco and daily commute to make a living.

San Francisco must retain families and stop the bleeding of thousands of decent families that have left San Francisco after contributing so much all these years.

We must remember this land, all of it was stolen from the Muwekma Ohlone the First People of San Francisco. I represent them.

Those thugs that think they can get away with murder in broad daylight - better think twice.

Proposition F stand for Fairness. It also stands for Fortitude and our Future.
