On the morning of Wednesday march 19th 2008, Anti War Activists from around the Bay Area placed an approximately 100 foot art installation that stated END WAR on Twin Peaks in San Francisco. This action was done to protest America’s ongoing war and occupation of Iraq. A war that has killed over one million Iraqis, 4000 American troops, and now 5 years after the initial attacks runs at a a cost of 400 million dollars a month.. Twin Peaks was chosen as a location because it is one of the most visible places in San Francisco. It is estimated that over a hundred thousand people view Twin peaks in one day. This action was done in solidarity with other Non Violent Direct Actions which occurred today throughout the Bay Area..
