FCC Coming to Stanford for Net Neutrality Hearing on April 17th
FCC lands at Stanford in April for network neutrality hearing.
The Federal Communications Commission has scheduled an internet management hearing, primarily focusing on the Comcast/BitTorrent controversy and other net neutrality issues, at Stanford University on April 17th.
This hearing will not (as far as we know) incorporate public testimony (although the FCC is accepting comments through the date of the hearing), but it is open to the public. The time and exact location on campus have not yet been disclosed. We'd like to avoid a repeat of last month's experience in Cambridge where Comcast bused in a bunch of sleepy seat-warmers. Can the Bay Area manage a vital, engaged, awake and activist audience at the hearing? It might mean a very early morning in Palo Alto (seating is first-come, first-served), so we'd encourage people to contact any friends and family in the South Bay available during the week and ask them to consider giving a day to the important cause of digital equality and freedom of expression.
