Two student groups had called for a rally to remove Fresh from his tree sit in the central campus area at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 14. Supporters called for a rally at 11:00.

At 6:00 am police came with a cherry picker and ladders and tried to arrest Fresh and cut down all of his supplies in a rain storm. He was able to climb around and evade arrest and the police left.

At 11:00 several hundred supporters and interested students gathered to hear what was happening and participate in discussions. At 12:00 a little over one hundred people came to protest fresh. The first group sat on the ground and the second stood and shouted and were shouted at by tree sit supporters. Fresh called for the groups to join. This went on for an hour. By 1:00 many students had gone to class and a sudden downpour started. Everyone went under a nearby deodar tree and held a joint meeting where the anti-tree sit folk expressed their view. They said he wasted taxpayer money, was unsanitary and there were better ways to protest. then people spoke about ways to democratize the regents and make the university better.

Suddenly fresh decided to come down. He was arrested and led away by the police.

Several people immediately climbed up into the tree but just for the time being.

fresh was later released.

No Nukes! Return native remains! Save the Oaks! Democratize the Regents!
