Censorship & ID seeking at HSU Library, Arcata

by no mas internet, por que?
Small steps in the creeping fascism that revokes civil liberties and increased the IDentification and surveillence program in the name of GW Bush's "war on terror", with legitimate excuses of lack of available computer space and where did all that funding for education go? Still over in Iraq you say?
After March, 17 2008 the HSSU public library will no longer allow non-students access to the internet without providing proof of identification and some sort of pass to obtain access to free computer terminals, some of the only available internet access in town. This is another added hardship to travelers and residents who cannot afford computer access. For travelers and people without identification, this action denies them access to a public learning facility, provided at taxpayer expense for the greater public good. Education comes in many forms, and self-education via the internet is a form of free learning in itself. Maybe the state institutions who have become imbedded with biotech and industrial clearcut logging corporations for their research funding are offeneded by our tenacity and willingless to learn independent of their influences. There are already plenty of computer terminals availanble for students, and even if there is a computer shortage, why not spend the funds from the ID system on a few extra terminals, cheap used ones even! We're not that picky here..

This is just another small segment of the continuous loss of civil liberties and privacy following 9/11 and the so-called "war on terror" being waged by the all seeiing GW Bush regime and their Homeland Security catch-all umbrella that let's no dissident escape undetected, as we're all on the side of "Al-Queda" (drats those CIA trained army of ghosts!) if we disagree with our government and corporations..

This action by Humboldt State University reflects the growing interdependence on corporations (biotech, Maxxam/PL) for their funding, and contracting their Forestry Program internship with Pacific Lumber under the ownership of Maxxam is only teaching students the unsustainable art of clearcutting and frequent herbicide applications..

For this and other reasons i left HSU and am hesitant to return under these conditions. To learn information about logging that promotes clearcuts is an invalid choice for myself. Why not have the option of an internship wuith the neerby Hupa Tribal Forestry and instead learn selective harvest instead of clearcuts with herbicide spraying? Why not recieve funding and perform research in organic farming instead of sniveling upon one's knees to the biotech corporations like Monsanto that already monopolizes such a vast segment of the food market with their monocultura?

So no thank you to HSU for dreams deffered, really had high hopes for the so called "emerald of environmentalism" that behind its green mask is the local outpost for Monsanto biotech, PL clearcuts and GW Bush National ID bullies who demand your name at the entrance..

All this censorship so close to the 2008 elections and with McCain singing about bombing Iran and 100 more years of war in Iraq has me ready to fly the coop so to speak, and join up with the "axis of evil" countries that may be kind enough to provide me and others with amnesty. Eitehr that or start collecting dyn-o-mite and get ready to fight the feds here in my new home. There will be no rounding up of any more people by the current U.S. government's Dept. of Homeland Security for FEMA detention camps (forced relocations following predicted disasters amount to localized genocide), that will trigger the collapse of the U.S. interstate freeway system (primary domestic travel route of U.S. military caravans), bridge by bridge. Call me the invisible Al Queda of the western U.S., even though i'm anything but a radical Sunni Wahhabist, more like a whirling dervish Sufi spinner who will vanish into a cloud of dust. We certainly support any non-violent interventions by peace activists, though we need to remind ourselves that alongside the peaceful revolution of Ghandi's sit-ins there were people in the mountains sabotaging British munitions trains and depots, and Ghandi was the only person the Britsish military could engage with..

If there is any future events similar to the last two elections, count on an immediate secession with actions prepared for the following days. We are prepared to insigate the U.S. government into declaring martial law, so start stocking up on candles and canned food early on. We've tried asking nicely several times and were repeatedly denied, so 2008 will be the year of decision. Nor do we accept the two party system of lesser evilism, though we may give Barack Obama a chance before we begin taking out interstate freeway bridges. We (me, myself and ii! All three of us!) will pledge to make all possible attempts to avoid any loss of human life, so please remember that "bridge out" sign really meanst just that..

To prove a point, the emotional release that i obtain by typing this message in thought not deed will be denied and the frustration will accumulate from result of censorship and like the cornering of Hamas Palestinians in Gaza, i will react out of anger of being silenced and isolated from any effective dialogue. No doubt the severity of the response to Palestinians in Gaza by the IDF is far greater than the minor annoyance of proving one's ID in order to access a computer terminal would result in empty threats on a screen becoming manifest into phyical reality as the momentary relief of online outbursts will be denied..

However, we cannot underestimate the serious nature of the "Fourth Reich" in the form of GW Bush is serious enough, and perhaps even further evolved and certainly smoother and slicker than the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler's Nazi party, especially when exploring the connection between Prescott Bush funding Hitler and GW Bush's support of apartheid and genocide walls of Zionist Israel against indigenous Palestinians..

There are a great many ideas and injustices to die for on today's Earth, and equally as many noble and lovely ideas, people and ecosystems to live for and in. However, when injustices are continuous and effective resistance appears to be slipping away into prison, illness and apathy, some new ideas and methods may be needed..

Though i do enjoy my physical life here on Earth, i have no delusions about the severity of the repression and continuous destruction throughout the Earth and at some point the pain of this makes my shoulders weary and the thought of an effective action that would or could result in my leaving the physical plane of existance isn't so bad for me..

On the other hand small scale actions against capitalist entities on the physical plane would be effective, though the confusion of insurance fraud scams by developers would make arson less effective as cash strapped developers will soon be laying the torchs to their own unsold homes as they hunger for the potential for an insurance payout, especially if some local skateboard kids can be waterboarded by the police into confessing to eco-terrorism. Smart folks over there at Homeland Security, way to bail the unpaid developers out of their overhousing mess, just didn't think there were that many millionaires out there either, but those mansion just kept going up..

Well, you can find me in the hills figuring out a way to pull this off without getting myself killed in the process. A lifelong trip to Napa State Forensic Unit would be not so much fun for me, though between that and being shot, i'll choose a life of forced psychiatric medications, routine beatings, sexual abuse and crappy factory farmed food..

OR

A nice long bus trip to Venezuala and renouncing my U.S. citizenship and hope the Venezualan government either put me to work in an organic yucca farm or deports me to another country of my choosing. Iran sounds fun, though i'm not sure i would want to mediate any conflict between GW Bush and Ahmadinijad, though i'm sure he's not as bad as we hear here in U.S. under influence of corporate media..

If this Cascadia Free State and Nuevo Aztlan secession ever gets any real credibility, maybe a diplomatic visit between the newly established governments seceeding from the greater U.S. and some representatives from Venezuala can talk about the seccesionist's rights to operate a free local economy without interference from U.S. government and their multinational corporations. Trade and support from Venezuala would be needed initially, and international observers would be present to prevent the U.S. military from violently attempting to quash the regionalist rebellion..

Viva Cascadia! Viva Nuevo Aztlan!

Down with U.S. Empire!

No link? No press release? Where is your source for this new library policy? How did you hear about this? A quick look at http://library.humboldt.edu shows nothing concerning this matter. I used to work in the library and I'd appreciate it if you took the time to present some hard facts about this new policy instead of using this rumor (it is until it's proven) as platform from which to launch a diatribe against HSU. Also, where's the evidence supporting the claims you're making about my alma mater and its corporate sponsorships?

Remember the student who got tased at a UCLA library? Here is an original source:

http://dailybruin.com/news/2006/nov/16/community-responds-to-taser-us/

It seems that the student failed to show ID after 11PM, when ID checks are routine in the library, as only students and faculty are allowed in the library after 11PM. That doesn't justify tasering the student, but it at least makes it clear that non-students are allowed in the library for most of the day.
