Over 40,000 non-human animals are housed on the UC Berkeley campus for research purposes.
Fifty percent are mice and forty percent are cold-blooded animals. Nine percent are other rodents, while the remaining one percent is comprised of non-human primates, cats, coyotes, hyenas, ferrets, rabbits, and invertebrates.
This campaign exists to keep the focus on the animals being tortured at UC Berkeley, and to hold those individuals who commit atrocities against animals at UC Berkeley personally accountable with every legal means we have available.
Experimenters currently using animals in research at UC Berkeley include:
Stephen E. Glickman (invasive reproductive experiments on female hyenas - inducing and then terminating pregnancy. Multiple Cesarean-section (C-section) surgeries on female hyenas)
Jack L. Gallant (invasive vision experiments and fluid deprivation on macaque monkeys)
Yang Dan (invasive vision experiments on cats and rodents - electrodes inserted into animals brains)
Ralph D. Freeman (invasive vision experiments on cats - electrodes inserted into animals brains - experiments are very similar to Yang Dan's experiments)
Frederic E. Theunissen (invasive experiments on birds - electrodes in animals brains)
Jeffery A. Winer (invasive brain and ear recordings on cats - electrodes in animals brains)
Frank S. Werblin (vision experiments on rabbits)
John E. Casida (the notorious "LD50 tests" - toxicology and chemical warfare agent experiments on rodents)
Mu-Ming Poo (cocaine addiction and vision experiments on rodents)
Lucia F. Jacobs (behavioral studies on squirrels and other rodents)
Marla B. Feller (rodents)
Dan Feldman (rodents)
Leonard F. Bjeldanes (rodents)
Benito O. deLumen (rodents)
Christine F. Wildsoet (invasive eye experiments on baby chickens)
Jose M. Carmena (wireless sensors in the rodent brain)
Richard H. Kramer (amphibians)
John G. Flannery (retinal experiments on rodents)
Irving Zucker (castration and hormonal experiments on hamsters)
Lance J. Kriegsfeld (behavioral experiments on rodents)
Joseph L. Napoli (toxicology experiments on rodents)
Suzanne Fleiszig (rodents)
Martyn T. Smith (toxicology experiments on rodents)
John Ngai (mice, zebrafish)
Eva Harris (dengue virus and other induced diseases on rodents)
Daniel Portnoy (infectious disease studies on mice and guinea pigs)
Fenyong Liu (infectious disease students on rodents)
