A Girl Is a Gun
(Une Aventure de Billy le Kid) Luc Moullet, 1971, 100 min. Sometimes described as an "acid Western," A Girl Is a Gun is certainly a weird trip. French New Wave icon Jean-Pierre Léaud stars as Billy the Kid, attempting to escape capture somewhere near the Mexican border. The film removes all narrative pretext to concentrate on an intense and twisted relationship between a man and a woman in a bizarre, elemental wilderness. Also notable is the droning, psychedelic soundtrack by Moullet's brother Patrice. $5 general, students, and seniors. Double features: films offered on the same date are included in one ticket. ![]()
