Court sides with super rich over first amendment
Injuction in California Northern District Court bans website dedicated to human rights/rule of law.
If you don't know Wikileaks, it's a beautiful thing. Wikileaks is a way for inside informants to anonymously get out critical information to media and legal authorities. They often expose human rights violations as well as government and corporate wrong-doing. In short they play an essential role in bringing democracy and the rule of law back within our reach.
Also, as you probably know, very wealthy and politically connected people, place ill-gotten gains from corporate plundering or illegal political deals in Cayman island accounts because these accounts cannot be audited.
In our America, the land of the free, a U.S. judge -- who apparently doesn't give damn about the oath he gave to protect the Constitution -- signed an injunction blocking us from the wikileaks.org website because of content related to a Cayman island banking scam. This happened without giving wikileaks a chance to represent itself. The case certainly hit too close to home for some well-connected people in our country doing really bad things.
If you have a moment, please make a call or write an email to your local Congressional Rep or Senator. Ask them to make a call to Chief Judge Vaughn R Walker regarding the following case:
Court: California Northern District Court
Office: San Francisco Office
County: Outside US
Presiding Judge: Hon. Jeffrey S. White
