Hello Bikes

This Month has 5 fridays, so that means EMERYVILLE CRITICAL MASS!! This month we are going to go to the mayor of emeryville's house for many reasons.

First being his murder of a pedestrian late last year, many people (including family members who have taken it upon themselves and contact us) are frustrated that the mayor of emeryville has gotten of scott-free for this act. Although the mayor does support alternative transport, we feel that creating a dialog with the mayor at his residence will further make emeryville a safer place for bicyclists.

The second reason being the previous criminalization of critical mass rides in emeryville the last one being on "Buy Nothing Day" in november in which riders were stopped and some cited for asserting one's right to protest.

And last, one of the main reasons to do this ride is emeryville's status as an Indian burial mound, which is now know as the bay street shopping mall. we find this to to a grave injustice to Native people all over the bay area who no longer have tribal land.

Please come out to this ride
Meet at 6pm | Macarthur Bart | Feb 22nd 2008

You're making a big mistake. Ken Bukowski is pro-bike. Every bike improvement in Emeryville was his doing, and he's been a supporter of many important regional bike struggles as well -- including all the bike-the-bridge efforts.
