Cindy Sheehan wants her supporters to share her new video with their friends
Cindy Sheehan has just announced that she has produced a short new video which she wants her supporters to share with their friends.
In an e-mail to her supporters today, Cindy Sheehan's San Francisco campaign ofice released this message with an announcement describing a new promotional video:
"Today people all over the country are making a choice for the Presidential nominee, it's an important decision that will affect our future and our history. But, as the last seven years have shown us, the President is only half of the story - having Representatives in office to hold the President accountable is what counts.
This election is about change - Let's make it about real change!"
In the e-mail message Sheehan does not endorse anyone for president but begins her video by saying that "We are starting a coalition of people like me, third party and independent candidates who are challenging the duopoly of the two-party system."
In her video, a number of individuals, including the actor and political activist Martin Sheen, express their endorsement of Cindy's campaign. It includes statements by students, teachers, military veterans, peace activists, a father who says his "son was the fifth Mexican to die in this immoral war", a 1964 Olympic Gold Medal winner, a representative of FAIR (Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting), and Cindy Sheehan's own sister, Dede.
Sheehan hopes more people will come to the support of her campaign. She is running in San Francisco against the incumbent Democratic Party congresswoman, Nancy Pelosi, who is Speaker of the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.
Sheehan is challenging Pelosi because she believes Pelosi has done little to help end the War in Iraq. If elected, Sheehan says she will.
Sheehan also believes that Pelosi has not held President Bush accountable for his lies about the war. If elected, Cindy Sheehan says she will immediately impeach him.
