Suicide Bombing Kills Two Palestinians, Israeli
At least three people were killed and five wounded on Monday, February 4, in a Palestinian attack in the southern Israeli town of Dimona.
"We heard a big explosion, and people began running," a shop owner who gave her name as Ravital told the Israeli Army Radio.
"I saw pieces of bodies flying in the air."
The latest media reports indicate that a Palestinian had infiltrated into Dimona's shopping center and denoted himself, killing one Israeli and injuring scores.
An Israeli police spokesman confirmed that the explosion was the result of a bombing attack.
Another Palestinian bomber in the scene was reportedly noticed and gunned down by an Israeli security man before he could blow himself up.
A number of Palestinian resistance factions have claimed joint responsibility for the attack, according to Al-Jazeera news channel.
Dimona, which lies in the southern Negev desert, is the site of Israel's top-secret nuclear reactor.
The attack is the first since a Palestinian bomber blew himself up in a bakery in the Red Sea resort of Eilat in January of last year, killing three people in the first such attack in Israel in nine months.

Negev Police Chief Yossi Porianta said that there had been two suicide bombers, but only one managed to detonate his explosives belt; the other was shot dead by security forces before he could blow himself up.
The second bomber had apparently been knocked out by the force of the first blast and was about to detonate his own belt, when rescue teams noticed the explosives and alerted police, who shot him at point blank.

Hours after a deadly suicide bombing in the southern town of Dimona, the town's mayor said Defense Minister Ehud Barak promised him that a security fence would be constructed along the Egyptian border by 2010.
Dimona Mayor Meir Cohen said that the defense minister had passed the message to him while visiting the site of the attack.
Cohen added: "The euphoria of Negev town, who thought it wouldn't happen to us, has ended."
