Valentine's Retreat for Activists |Meditation as Relationship. Relationship as Meditation.

by Marie Morohoshi (events [at] urbanpeace.net)
Meditation as Relationship. Relationship as Meditation, a Valentine’s daylong retreat for activists, allies & agents of social change, led by dharma teacher, author and activist angel Kyodo williams. When asked "what is meditation?" I always say, "One word: relationship.  It is simply 'being with.' The power of this profound and radical practice of being with ourselves, and by extension, others, can be neither fully  expressed, nor underestimated."   — Rev. angel Kyodo williams

When asked "what is meditation?" I always say, "One word: relationship.
It is simply 'being with.' The power of this profound and radical practice
of being with ourselves, and by extension, others, can be neither fully
expressed, nor underestimated."

After all the fancy descriptions, meditation is no more and no less
than relationship: a continuous process of coming into being with
our most natural state. As agents of social change--people
committed to transforming the society we live in towards a
sustainable, equitable place for all--it is our responsibility to
first discover & strengthen the relationship we have with
ourselves so that we can become truly effective advocates & allies
for others. The old "us vs. them" way of doing social change
perpetuates a culture of violence and aggression. The new
paradigm of change abides in compassion & begins with you

Join this social visionary, eminent teacher and leader in the

"Third Way" movement for transformative social
change
for a powerful daylong retreat of meditation, yoga
practice, dharma talk and community...and experience the
power of BEING change for yourself.

Bring a friend, an ally or someone you're having a hard time with.

Also, please bring a bag lunch.
