SANTA CRUZ CANDLELIGHT VIGILS FOR AN END TO THE DIPLOMATIC AND ECONOMIC SIEGE OF GAZA: HELD ON 1/29 AND 1/31:

Dear Friends,

The Committee for Justice for Palestine, the Palestine-Israel Action Committee, and the Resource Center for Nonviolence are conducting a candlelight vigil supporting the calls by international, Palestinian and Israeli human rights and humanitarian groups for an end to the diplomatic and economic siege of Gaza.

There will be two events at the following times:

Tuesday, January 29th at 5:30 PM at the Quarry on the UCSC campus.

Thursday, January 31st at 6 PM at the Clock tower in downtown Santa Cruz.

Both of these events will last only one hour and will happen no matter rain or shine, so bring an umbrella if necessary.

Please contact us if you would like to help with any of the organizational aspects (sign making, etc.) Palestine-Israel Action Committee , 831-234-6522.

We hope that you will attend and show your solidarity with the residents of Gaza and demonstrate with us against this abhorrent collective punishment.

In Peace,

Sami W. Abed

For those of you who were at the candlelight vigil thanks for coming, and for those of you who weren't it was a great success despite the rainy weather. We had people stopping and looking and asking questions and had a great time. We will not forget those who are suffering Israeli oppression in Gaza.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
