On 1/15/08, Congressman Wexler, (FL) implored his colleagues in congress to join him in calling for Judiciary Committee hearings for the impeachment of Dick Cheney. He held up a book with the signatures (received in only the past 5 weeks) of over 180,000 citizens of this country who support Impeachment. Sworn duty calls for Congress, both individually and collectively, to stand up in support of Rep Robert Wexler's call for immediate impeachment hearings. The charges cited in H.Res.333/799 Impeachment Bill are too serious to be ignored by the American people and their Congress. A move to impeach is needed to deter the slide of the nation toward an "imperial presidency" that is not subject to the "rule of law" and not obligated to honor the Constitution. NOW is the time for Congress to stand up and do their sworn duties.
