49th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution
The Cuban Story
Original documentary footage narrated by Errol Flynn
January 1, 1959 marked the triumph of the Cuban revolutionary war. Faced with Rebel Army advances and a broadening popular insurrection and general strike led by the July 26th movement, dictator Fulgencio Batista was forced to flee Cuba. Over the next few days the Rebel Army took control of all the military garrisons and police headquarters.
