Time:
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Event Type:

Organizer/Author:
Location Details:
11am, anti-choicers gather in front of Frank Ogawa Plaza (14th St and Broadway)

Noon, Anti-Choicers March down Broadway, 7th St, MLK JR, 14th St.

On Friday January 18th, anti-choicers are gathering for the first ever "Standing Up For Life" conference/march in Oakland, CA. This particular march is placing its influence on the black community of the East Bay and will be headlined by Dr. Alveda C. King, and Dr. Clenard Childress , founder of Blackgenocide.org, an anti-choice website comparing abortion to the next holocaust. These same comparisons are being used with misleading statistics to accuse abortion providers of racist practices at the event.

This march plans to DIRECTLY walk by the Women's Choice Clinic, an avid supporter of ALL people of color, religions, genders, sizes and abilities. WCC focuses on community health empowerment, therefor we will fight these accusations and stand up against the patriarchal, RACIST, police state that "would rather see us die than live healthy, free lives."

Support Oakland as a PRO CHOICE community!

None of us have been prepared for this until just recently so please please please spread the word to come to Oakland, too, and stand up for the East Bay!

WE NEED DIRECT ACTION!

Friday January 18th, 2008
Frank Ogawa Plaza 14th/Broadway (near 12th St./City Center Bart)
Noon

Bring drums and signs to Oakland. Women's Choice Clinic has a Friday night clinic from 6-8pm, anyone who wants to do clinic-defense on that night as well is more than welcome, however, we unsure if it will be necessary.

In Solidarity,
Volunteers at the Women's Choice Clinic
