A letter to the SF Bay Guardian on their Ron Paul coverage

by reader
I heard nothing back after I submitted my letter to the Guardian so don't know if they'll publish it (not being critical, just a fact, generally they are a good paper), but I wanted to post something about this issue since the latest news is that CA will now be important for the presidential decision after the Iowa outcome. Paul supporters are mainly white homeowners in the Northwest. Anyone reading this who is not white should take notice that Paul is the candidate of choice by the White Supremacists. I'll post a larger article later with supporting links to all of my points in the letter.
Dear Editor,

I was disappointed but not surprised by your coverage of Ron Paul – no voice of opposition, only a momentary glimmer of 'ho hum' negatives.

Think, for a moment, of the potential catastrophe – as we head into Global Warming -- of the isolationist, nationalist, religious-right and anti-environmentalist underpinnings of Paul's ideology, the likelihood for worldwide nuclear destruction after Paul withdraws us from the UN (which Paul considers 'a threatening cult of elites'). This is the "Constitutionalist" who wants to put prayer and creationism into our schools, give tax credits for Christian schooling, and revoke citizenship rights for children born here.

The completed Paul puzzle is a frightful picture, with consequences potentially far outweighing any promised "Revolution" (of simply rejecting the Neocon horror show and US tax absurdities), but we would never know this from your gushing article. There's a reason why Paul is the candidate of choice for the white supremacists, the John Birch Society, and the UN haters, and it isn't because he's the 'peace candidate'.

It's vitally important to put together the pieces of this puzzle for readers, early and often. Our future may depend on it.

Sincerely,
'Reader'

People who claim that someone should not take a thoughtful look at Ron Paul because the majority of his supporters are white males or because a handful of undesirables (in this case white supremacists) support him are engaging in the same type of group politics of which racism is the most common form.

This is a bigoted post ironically trying to condemn (or accuse more accurately) others of racism.

Why do I here the voice of CHRIS CROCKER wwhen I read this post?

For crying out loud........ If you want to save all of these socialist programs for the beterment of humanity--- create a Non Profit- find contributors and make a diffeernce--

Dont steal money from me and force me to contribute to something I dont believe is helpiing our world.....

With the Democrats guilty of Domestic Socialism--- making the public dependent on them for hand outs...
The Neo CONS are just as bad by being GLOBAL Socialist--- by distributing subsidies and foreign aid and making thrid world countries dependant on us and there for alolowing us to have a modicum of control over the world.....

Subsidies and aid-- makes us slaves........

Work hard America...... dont depend on the bleading hearts of others to help you.......

If you dont accept responsibility for your own life----- then you will be submitting to the control of others and might as well have lived in the USSR under the control of the cremlin......

If you think about it......... I am really not reaching all that far out there......

Think CAUSE and EFFECT.......

Hello reader, i just cant stand by and not comment on your attempts to portray Dr. Paul as racist, isolationist and whatnot.

One thing that i want to tell you is that you are in fear of few things which definitely won't bring an end to the world that you are implying.

Ron Paul is not Isolationist, he is trying to save lives of our soldiers by bringing them home as soon as possible and not die far from home for oil that makes companies rich and powerful. By doing this, he will decrease spendings, which will allow him to lower taxes and eventually get rid of IRS.

Ron Paul is not anti-environmentalist and religious-right, he knows that private organizations will do a better job in protecting our air, water and the rest of the environment than the government. Also, he allows each state to create their personal lars and regulation that will better reflect people's views and opinions, this is how it is suppose to be, the is no way that one law will satisfy everyone .

Likelihood of worldwide nuclear destruction? Come on, stop spreading fear and hatred, you have no clue what you're talking about, UN is the reason United States of America is in wars, they influence the decision of this government, regardless of the opinion of the people.

You are also completely wrong about education, here is a quote from Ron Paul : “The federal government does not own our children. Yet we act as if it does by letting it decide when, how, and what our children will learn.”
and another "I support giving educational control back to parents, who know their children better than any politician in D.C. ever will."

The federal government has no constitutional authority to fund or control schools. I want to abolish the unconstitutional, wasteful Department of Education and return its functions to the states."

I could prove you wrong on every single point that you have brought up in your letter, but you my friend, are so close-minded that you won't be willing to change your view no matter what other people will say.

Have fun, and make sure that you vote for Ron Paul, so you wont regret not doing so later, when you're old and it's too late.

Ron Paul is the only choice for Peace and Freedom.

These are hilarious responses, thanks. About what I expected.

Senator Robert Byrd joined the KKK, so please, let's stop with "branding" or "labling" a candidate "guilty" of "crimes against humanity" by association. Have you asked yourself "Why did Kucinich say he would have Ron Paul as his VP?" Ron Paul has repeatedly says the constitution spplies to all citizens, not groups, because groups discriminatte and are the heart and root of discrimination. Our political issues here in the USA do not have to do with racism, they have to do with calling the constitution "nothing but a pievce of paper" and going to the UN to create and participate in rradioactive wars of massise destruction, perpetuating global warming and death.

I don't agree with Ron Paul 100% on all of his issues. I never agreed with any candidate 100%. I agree with the solutions Dr. paul is offering. I believe this is best globally and locally. It's time to end the UN sanctioned wars, the drugs war, the feds stopping states from medicinal cannabis, reproduction laws strangling us from new technology and medicine the rich go to other nations for. It;'s time to change and Ron Paul is the best choice for California, because he's the only one saying he'll back the feds off. CA desperately needs a president who will recind the powers Bush gave himself. Only Ron Paul says he'll do that. Only Ron Paul is claiming he will not be a dictator and YES I believe him. He's got a track record that it's worth the risk, by comparison to everyone else.

It seems as if your letter was intended to scare people rather then enlighten them. No wonder they didn't print it.

Ron Paul is the PEACE candidate. He is the only candidate who will end the Iraq war immediately and return our troops home safely. And he never voted for this Iraq war, not once.

Ron Paul is hardly a white supremacist. Hillary Clinton takes donations from convicted drug smugglers and convicted fraudsters, so should we call her a drug dealer and thief?

Ron Paul understands that to eliminate the racial divide in this country we have to eliminate the "groups" we've been placed into and be judged as individuals. Nobody has their rights because they are white or black, gay or straight, male or female. People have their rights because they are PEOPLE and because we have a Constitution that guarantees this.

In a society where personal liberty is valued, people are judged on the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

I will vote for Ron Paul because he is the only candidate dedicated to ending the war immediately, defending our civil liberties, and restoring our Constitutional government to preserve these rights for our children.

It would seem that the new-left strategy of ignoring class analysis in favor of issues-driven... reaction to crises as they emerge, is yet again coming back to bite us all in the ass-- this time in the form of these "Ron Paul people," caterwauling against those eeeeeeeeeee-vil-socialist Dems!!

Once upon a time, true lefties knew that socialism was the solution (and we can argue forever about the formulary mix in which it's delivered), and anyone knee-jerk against it was of very suspicious loyalties, indeed. Now, here they stand-- economic reactionaries-- in this very citadel of the Amerikan left, the SF node of the IMC-- and demand that we keep our steeenking-big-Govt hands off their money pile.

A-hem.
