Depleted Uranium at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard and thousands of cases of cancer too

by Francisco Da Costa
There were experiments conducted with Depleted Uranium at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard from before 1976. Over the years thousands suffered from cancer and are suffering - even as we speak - all over Bayview Hunters Point and beyond. Of course Senator Diane Feinstein and Congressperson Nancy Pelosi are not cognizant of these facts. Mayor Gavin Newsom - a Racist - would not know. The Environmental Protection Agency and other Regulatory agencies are told to be mum - if they utter a word - they all are BLACKLISTED.
Hunters Point Naval Shipyard is contaminated and is a Superfund Site. What really makes the issue very serious are the radiological elements.

What makes Hunters Point Naval Shipyard a terrible place to be - are the worst types of experiments that were conducted.

In recent years we have witnessed what happened to thousands of our soldiers that went to Desert Storm and Desert Shield.

They went to war - bright and fine - healthy women and men and came out with ailments that still plague them. Depleted uranium played a role in ruining their health.

Today in Iraq - thousands of innocent civilians suffer from multiple cancers. Just google Iraq and Depleted Uranium - and find out for yourselves.

Most people that spend some time on Hunters Point Naval Shipyard - come down with cancer.

The San Francisco Police Department has chosen to work at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard and has been there - for many years - closer to areas were Depleted Uranium experiments were conducted. How smart!

Politicians are crooks - at least most of them are - Diane Feinstein is one of them - she better learn about Depleted Uranium that is found all over Hunters Point Naval Shipyard.

Some folks want to build a stadium at Hunters Point - to shower upon the fan - some fancy radiation. One would have thought San Francisco a Green City would exercise the Precautionary Principle:

Superb piece, Mr. Da Costa!

You are sooo right on!!!

As Leuren Moret wrote,

The Navy first tested depleted uranium munitions in 1977 Hunters Point. From the USS Bigelow, the. Phalanx Weapons System fired 3,000 rounds of depleted uranium penetrators per minute. The tests exceeded expectations and production started in 1978 to fill orders for 23 U.S. Navy and 14 foreign military systems.

With a half-life of 4.5 billion years, the deadly aerosol (gas) does not just disappear. Sadly, tragically... it stays around San Francisco forever.

The same is true of the DU being exploded out in the open air about 40 miles away from you at the Livermore Radiation Laboratory. Even though it seems like a drive and not actually a SF problem? In fact, Uranium aerosols were found to travel from Iraq to the UK - over 2,000 miles - in just one week.

It would appear that those in positions of power are quite "good to go" with eliminating San Francisco's persons of color, Asians, progressives, and the GLBT community, too.

The only way to achieve the remediation of all toxically and radioactively contaminated areas, the implementation of public radiation monitors, and appropriate medical care, treatment, and reparations for damages incurred is if enough people demand it.

Basically, those in power have effectively "nuked" the San Francisco area since at least the 1950s - and the radioactivity lingers. We must be anything but silent about this.

Even if we don't care so much about ourselves, don't our precious kids, grand kids, nieces and nephews and all their descendents deserve better?

Thank you, Mr. Da Costa, for all you do.
