December 2nd was the day of the vote for constitutional reform in Venezuela. The results have since shown: 49% for the constitutional amendments and 51% against. Here in the United States there has been a heavy propaganda campaign to demonize Chavez before and after the vote. What is behind the media’s hostility towards Venezuela? Why does the U.S accuse Chavez of being “undemocratic? What is the current situation in Venezuela?

The Film “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised”
Documentary on Venezuela made by two independent filmmakers. Shot from inside the presidential palace on April 11, 2007 when Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez was forcibly removed from office in a U.S backed coup’ de tat. They were also present 48 hours later when, remarkable, he returned to power amid cheering aides.
Included in the public meeting:

-Political update of the vote results
-Analysis of the current situation in Venezuela
-Film screening of “The Revolution Will Not be Televised”
-Discussion on What people in the United States can do to support the revolution in Venezuela
