Palo Alto Demo: NO ATTACK ON IRAN

pi5send3.jpg
Date:
Thursday, December 13, 2007
Time:
12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Raging Grannies
Email:
Location Details:
LYTTON PLAZA
corner of University and Emerson avenues
downtown Palo Alto, CA

Lytton Plaza has been a popular location for protests since before the phrase "War is Not Good for Children and Other Living Things" was coined.
Now this historic part of Palo Alto is facing a face change at the behest of downtown business owners. Their motive? Keep shoppers IN, homeless OUT, is what Grannies fear. Meanwhile, is the glorious history of the plaza doomed to fade away? The open space at the corner of Emerson and University avenues will probably get a name change as well. AT NOON: Grannies will pronounce that Lytton Plaza shall from now on be referred to as PEACE PLAZA and will demonstrate to urge the Bush Administration: NO Attack on Iran!
Join us for singing and other pleasant surprises at noon.
From 12:30pm a small party will walk down to Congressman Anna Eshoo's office and deliver a petition signed by area residents urging her to take our plea to DC.
(Co-sponsored event with MoveOn Council 14)
