Come Together, Right Now!
by Cindy Sheehan
November 30th, 2007
It is absolutely flabbergasting to me that our world will be soon commemorating the 5th year since George Bush announced that the US had commenced “Shock and Awe” against Iraq.
Millions of people marched against the impending invasion all over the world on February 15th, 2003 in one of the most touching and amazing show of solidarity against global aggression ever seen. Since then, the pro-peace/anti-war demonstrations have been mostly disjointed with not so much solidarity.
I left the peace movement in May of this year partially in frustration over this lack of unity. At the time I was in despair over the fact that the movement had been unable to stop anything because of the egos and the infighting. Since then, the usurpation of our liberties and the killing of our children and the Iraqi people has just grown worse. The movement was unable to stop a funding bill or be united in demanding accountability for the war criminals that have been instrumental in destroying three countries, ours included.
Now after nearly 5 years of the illegal occupation of Iraq and over 5 years of the immoral occupation of Afghanistan, we all know, even those who watch the propaganda news networks and are in denial, that this war is not only gone horribly wrong from day one, but is a sham based on deceit.
Not only has our foreign policy suffered profoundly under BushCo and Congress. Inc, but the foreign war expenditures without a commensurate raise in revenue has driven our country deeply into a quagmire of debt. Our trade deficit is the largest it has ever been and 54,000 homes went into foreclosure in October. Gas is hovering around the $4.00 a gallon mark in the vicinity of San Francisco and is only going to go up. The degradation of our environment is becoming catastrophic while closeted, deviate Republican lawmakers are worried about people of the same sex having intimate relations and Democrats are too busy trying to act like Republicans while pretending to be Democrats. It is up to us—We the People.
Our country is rapidly slipping into a corporate-militaristic fascism and the peace/anti-war movement is worried about personalities and who gets a bigger piece of the pie—and I am not sure what kind of pie it is. The only thing I know about this work is that it is very difficult and requires a lot of sacrifice and commitment without resulting in much monetary reward. The rewards of true and lasting peace with an overthrow of the pigs of war who think they are globally in charge is our reward and seeing a better world for all the worlds’ children and grandchildren is what we should be striving for.
This is why I am calling for The Dave Cline/MLK, Jr. Memorial Peace Summit in January (18-20) to bring all of the various groups together so we can strategize and brainstorm more effective ways of challenging war and injustices.
We not only need to come together in a Year Five Committee to come up with effective strategies to mourn the coming Sixth Year of a mistake that should have never happened with the loss of life counted past one-million, but we need to check our egos at the door and bring a healthy longing for the unity that can finally bring the peace that will bring health and prosperity to our country and the world.

Cindy Sheehen is running for Congress.
Anyone know what happened with the Impeach Cheney letters to Pelosi thru Cindy's office?
We need both the strategy of a Peace Summit of the peoples to overcome such warmongering conferences as Bushco just held at Annapolis side by side. Whatever happened to the organizers? The anti-war movement cannot afford to only organize for the elections of the two war parties. That has proved folly. We need an anti-war government. We need to oppose the war makers at the source, we need to set up peoples alternative summits wherever there is need for them. Surely we all know that liberation needs both active resistence to their aggressive war making meetings, as well as participation in political, Judicial, and inter-faith alliances. We need to make sure the G.I. resistence is utilized correctly to make the point of armed struggle and resistence from the soldiers can and will be used to effect the liberation side to end the illegal occupation and bring the troops home.
Use all means necessary to end the pollution wars, by upholding the best of the U.S. Constitution which says that when the elected government no longer serves the needs of the people, the people have the right and duty to alter (impeach) or abolish that government (revolution) and replace it with one that does serve its needs. Pollution does not serve the peoples or the plants and animals needs, neither at home nor abroad. Surely the courageous peoples war waged by the Vietnamese for independence and freedom from foreign domination has taught that the peoples need to use every form of resistence available to achieve their goals to end Imperialist wars of aggression and save the country from further degradation of the web of life of the plants, animals and peoples, air, land, and water. Bushco's wars are about oil and its monopolization by the U.S. oil companies. Does that not suggest that the struggle and unity for the peoples liberation should also center on ecological organic green power as a way to break Bushco's polluted surge and thereby bring about peace. What about the womans' power to change the system favourably by demanding equal electing of woman. Not only a token few, but the 50-50 ecological electing that the species needs to effect its material harmony and joy that is the natural green balance that nature needs to allow womans to access her half of the societies wealth being half the people. That way to move from a dysfunctional species ruled by male domination of the species for pollution wars at home and abroad. Cindy for Presidenta would be more along the real needs for the people. To restore the matriarchy would do more for the non-effective peace movement than a million elections controlled by male Imperialist empire builders. Cindy should call for a constitutional congress and insist on doubling democracy by changing the U.S. constitution , to require the equal electing of woman, one man and one woman per constituency throughout the society. The tired call for peace with no response happens when that movement fails even to show what peace equals. Peace equals disarmament. Peace equals the end of pollution caused by motivating your revolution (industrial) by coal, gas, oil, and atomic energy which is the sum of Bushcos wars. Peace summitt as a self congrats for just another meeting is not going to change the system fully, which is the source and cause of the present wars for oil and male domination by fault of the previous empires conquest of the matriarchy. Votes won't do the full job, and voting for a male domination of the species will not bring back the natural harmony and joy of the species. This depression of the anti-war movement is because of legislated polluted, poverty wars of aggression plundering the public treasury on an on going basis. To end war stop the financing of illegal unjust violence and shut down the war machine and its manufactury. Whatever happened to the good old strikes that could shut down the armament industries? The workers of Seattle refused to load the arms on ships set to go to Siberia in 1917 when the U.S. Imperialists sought to destroy the first workers state in modern times. That kind of solidarity summed up in a foreign policy of workers of the world, unite, should be brought back to life. To carry on in the old way doesn't work anymore especially when the food itself has been tainted and ruined by excessive chemicals and poisons. Organic food and method is a way to the liberated area of agriculture. Peace equals organic agricultural communes instead of prisons. Peace is caused by workers of the world uniting. Really the choice of war or peace has been written about, and the science of peace equals dismantling of the war machine and its manufactury, and turning the technology to solidarity with the web of life. The planet is bing murdered by madmen who lie about what to do about it. Surely something must be done and sooner rather then later. Bon Chance.
