Internet Blockbuster, Loose Change - Final Cut, Bay Area Premieres

by Carol Brouillet (cbrouillet [at] igc.org)
The third and final version of the 9/11 documentary film “Loose Change” will premiere December 12th-15th in Oakland, San Rafael, and San Francisco. Filmmakers Dylan Avery and Korey Rowe will attend the premieres and stay for a demonstration on the 16th commemorating the Boston Tea Party by tossing official 9/11 reports and ensuing legislation in the Bay.

Dylan Avery was inspired to create the film after director James Gandolfini told him that to succeed "you have to have something to say to the world." In 2002 he began a fictional story about how he and his friends discovered that September 11th was not a terrorist attack, but rather an attack by our own government.

His background research soon suggested that this idea might not be entirely fiction. Over the years the movie added more information, and evolved into a documentary, one of the most viewed films ever, on the internet, nurturing the budding 9/11 Truth movement into a widespread grassroots phenomenon.

In the Bay Area, where in 2004 the San Francisco International Citizens' Inquiry into 9/11 was held and support for 9/11 Truth is widespread, Loose Change Version 2's showing at Oakland's Grand Lake Theater was met with challenges from local researchers. To their credit, the film's young producers received the criticism constructively. Loose Change Final Cut is a completely new film, with questionable bits removed, new evidence incorporated, and given glowing approval by its fact checker Dr. David Ray Griffin, author of several excellent 9/11 books. The film should satisfy both newcomers to the subject and long-time researchers.

After the final screening Saturday December 15 in San Francisco, the filmmakers will don colonial tricorn hats at Sunday's celebration of the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.

In solidarity with Boston 9/11 Truth, local activists will toss into the Bay not only the 9/11 Commission Report, but also the NIST Report, the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, Presidential Directive 51, and HR 1955 (the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007).

The film premieres are meant to inspire people to take action in support of demands for a genuine inquiry into 9/11, to reject legislation passed on the basis of lies, and to demand accountability and impeachment.

Wednesday, December 12th at 7 PM, Loose Change - Final Cut premieres at the Grand Lake Theater, 3200 Grand Avenue, in Oakland. Saturday, December 15th at 7 PM, Loose Change - Final Cut premieres at the Victoria Theatre, 2961 16th Street (across from BART), in San Francisco. Both screenings are benefits for the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance and the Feal Good Foundation. Tickets are $10. The trailer is posted at www.loosechange911.com.

The San Francisco Tea Party for Truth begins December 16th at noon near Pier 39, marching towards Hyde Street Pier at 1 PM for statements of redress. At 3 PM the flawed reports and legislation will be tossed into the Bay at Aquatic Park.
