PEACE WITH IRAN, Sanaz Meshkinpour will speak in Monterey Dec 8 at 2 pm at the Irvine Auditorium 460 Pierce St. Monterey
Sanaz Meshkinpour is an Iranian American activist of Jewish and Muslim parents, living and working in San Francisco. She serves as Global Exchange's Middle East Program Coordinator, organizing delegations to Iran, Israel & Palestine, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Afghanistan. Sanaz holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science, with an emphasis on Middle East Politics, from UC Berkeley. Sanaz believes that sanctions or military intervention in Iran would bring about dangerous consequences to the Iranian civil society and populace, as well as for ongoing conflicts within the region. She has family in Iran, Israel and the US - she regularly visits friends and family in Iran. In her dynamic presentation, Sanaz weaves her critical analysis of the situation, with personal stories of her family and their travels.

Just as a sidebar, there are only two candidates in the mainstream parties that are opposed to the U.S. aggression towards Iran; Dennis Kucinich (D) and Ron Paul (R). Both of these candidates are being marginalized in their respective parties debates, cast out as fringe lunatics and other slanderous accusations..
ALL other candidates from both Dem/Rep parties are in support of U.S. military aggression against Iran, citing the infamous "nuck-leer threat" as oft repeated by the GW Bush regime..
What can people do, other than outright attacks on military bases as the fort dix six attempted, to cease and desist the U.S. military aggression and the bipartisan warmongering??
We've tried the peaceful methods, protest marches and even lock-downs at military recruiters offices, yet witness the U.S. military as a force of destruction out of our collective control. The greatest force of peace and resistance in Iraq appears to originate with Moqtada Al-Sadr and the Mahdi Army militia, both for unification between Shia/Sunni Muslims of Iraq and a focused energy on expelling the U.S. occupiers. We all detest violence and bloodshed of innocents, both Iraqi civilians caught in crossfire and young U.S. soldiers whose youthful ignorance was exploited by military recruiters armed with deception and false promises..
Some folks out there have expressed a desire to begin targeting U.S. military recruiters here to prevent any more young people from getting killed in the crossfire. This will certainly happen if an invasion of Iran is on the agenda. Not a threat, that's a promise..
Nuf respect to Moqtada Al-Sadr and the Mahdi Army for their efforts at expelling the U.S. occupiers and bringing unity between Shia/sunni factions..
