Statement on Health Care Proposals in Legislature

At its meeting in Fresno on November 11, 2007, the State Central Committee issued the following resolution:

The Peace and Freedom Party opposes any attempts to provide "universal health care coverage" by directing more money to insurance companies. In particular, we oppose and call on the legislature to reject any proposals that mandate individuals to buy insurance, with or without subsidy, or that provide care for those now without adequate coverage only by subsidizing their purchase of private insurance.
